Multi award winning musician, Sir Victor Uwaifo has been honoured with a Living Human Treasure award by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).The award is given to reward those who possess to a high degree the knowledge and skills required for performing or re-creating specific elements of the intangible cultural heritage. A true man of the arts, Sir Victor Uwaifo is a multi-instrumentalist, who plays the saxophone, electric guitar, electric piano, flute, and vocals. He is also a talented sculptor. He is a proud recipient of the Member of the Order of the Niger award by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Sango, yesterday, dismissed charges filed against the man who named his dog ‘Buhari’ in a community in Ogun state. Magistrate O. O. Adebo said the prosecutor failed to substantiate his case against Joachim Iroko and consequently struck out all charges preferred against him. Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have neutralised about eight suspected female suicide bombers in the last one week, Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Kingsley Samuel said yesterday.In a statement, Col. $1.5 billion loan for Lagos-Ibadan railway stuck

Federal lawmakers came under fire yesterday for delaying the $1.5billion Chinese loan for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan standard rail gauge.The National Assembly slashed N21billion off the N31billion estimate in the 2017 budget for the rehabilitation of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.All conditions for the loan were met over six months ago. Only the lawmakers’ approval is yet to be obtained.Last month, the presidential request for the loan’s approval was read by Senate President Bukola Saraki and referred to the Committee on Foreign Loans headed by Senator Shehu Sani.
