United Nation Develops $4bn Partnership Framework With Nigeria

Kachikwu – Dangote’s refinery should meet local needs

Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum, says the 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery being constructed by Aliko Dangote, “should be enough to meet local needs”. Eyes Of Lagos reports gathered that, Kachikwu made this statement while speaking at the ongoing 24th Africa Oil Week in Cape Town, South Africa. “That should be enough to meet local needs,” he said adding that the country is close to finalising the process for private investors to revamp the exiting refineries. He said this will add a total of 450,000 bpd to local output and reduce reliance on imports on petroleum products. Oando Shares Audit, Court stops suspension

Oando Plc has obtained an ex-parte order from the Federal High Court restraining the Nigerian Stock Exchange from implementing a technical suspension of its shares. The company’s Head, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Alero Balogun, said on Tuesday that the ex-parte order was obtained on Oct. 23. Balogun said the order also restrained the Securities and Exchange Commission from conducting any forensic audit into the company’s affairs pending the hearing and determination of the matter. “We are of the view that the SEC’s directives are illegal, invalid and calculated to prejudice the business of the company,’’ Balogun said in a statement. FAAC: Fed govt, states, local govts share N558bn in October

Mr Ahmed Idris, Accountant-General of the Federation, said the Federal Government, States and Local Governments shared N558.082 billion in October compared to N637.704 shared in the previous month. Idris made this known at the end of the monthly Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting on Tuesday in Abuja. He said that the sum indicated a decrease in the revenue shared by the three-tiers of government of N130.428billion for October.
