Thieves Stealing Solar Streetlights Electrocuted in Bayelsa

Two suspected thieves have tragically been electrocuted while attempting to steal solar streetlights in the Ogobiri community, located in the Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The bodies of the pair were found on the morning of Saturday, December 28, near the New Site of the state-owned Niger Delta University and the Ogobiri roundabout. According to reports, the thieves had already removed four streetlight poles from their positions and were in the process of loosening the fifth when it fell onto nearby high-tension wires, resulting in their electrocution.

The theft of streetlights has reportedly become a recurring issue in the area, with residents and authorities expressing concern over the rising incidents of such criminal activities.
