Mohbad’s Autopsy Sparks More Questions: Pathologist Suggests Medical Error, Not Hard Drugs

As the mystery behind Mohbad’s sudden death continues to stir public emotion, the long-awaited inquest has taken a dramatic turn. At the Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, the final witness, forensic pathologist Dr. Uwom Eze, dropped major revelations that are now fueling even more questions. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

During the latest hearing, Dr. Eze — who conducted the second autopsy following public outcry — disclosed that Mohbad was not a drug abuser, contrary to rumors that circulated after his death. Instead, he had only been given regulated doses of antihistamines and painkillers to treat what seemed to be severe discomfort.

But here’s where things got even more interesting.

When grilled about the injection Mohbad allegedly received before he died, Dr. Eze admitted he couldn’t determine how it was administered. An injury on the late singer’s arm, initially thought to be connected, turned out to be superficial and possibly irrelevant.

“Even a newborn baby won’t die from that injury,” Dr. Eze stated.
“At the time I conducted the autopsy, the injury wasn’t even there… likely due to post-mortem changes.”

He also revealed that the advanced decomposition of the body made it impossible to pinpoint an exact cause of death. However, he suggested a “severe and rapid hypersensitivity reaction” could have been triggered by something in the injection—possibly an allergic response.

Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, just hours after being treated at home by a nurse. He was buried the next day, sparking national outrage and demands for answers.

When questioned by the family’s legal counsel, Wahab Shittu (SAN), Dr. Eze described the nurse’s actions as likely being a case of “medical misadventure”—raising questions about negligence.

With the inquest now wrapped up, the coroner has promised to announce a verdict date soon. But the public remains restless, hoping for justice—and clarity—in one of Nigeria’s most haunting celebrity deaths.
