“I’ll Find Land in Abuja and Build New ‘Befitting’ APC National Secretariat” – Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to build a new national secretariat for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
Speaking during the 14th APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the State House Conference Centre on Thursday, July 24, Tinubu stressed the need for a modern and befitting headquarters for the ruling party. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
“We’ll look for an appropriate land to build a befitting secretariat,” the president declared.
However, Tinubu did not disclose how much will be spent on the proposed project.
Current APC Secretariat
At present, the party operates from the Muhammadu Buhari House, located at 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja. The building, named in honor of former President Muhammadu Buhari, was acquired in 2021 after the APC reportedly paid ₦2.5 billion for the property.
Interestingly, while the last NEC meeting was held at the Buhari House, Thursday’s emergency session took place at the Presidential Villa—a move some analysts interpret as a sign of the need for a more suitable and functional venue for party activities.
