-The rice which was earlier speculated to be available at the flat rate of N13,000 will now be sold for N12,000

The sale of the much awaited Lagos State rice, also known as Lake Rice is expected to commence on Wednesday, December 21, Vanguard reports.
It was gathered that the sale which was earlier scheduled to commence on December 15 couldn’t take off as a result of delay in production and late arrival of the product in Lagos.
It was also reliably gathered that the price of the 50 kilogram bag of rice has been reduced to N12,000, which was against the earlier speculated N13,000.
However, contrary to an earlier announcement, Lagos State Government has announced new sales outlets.
Consequently, Lagosians have been enjoined to take note of this new information.
These new locations include: Lagos East; Ikorodu-Odogunyan Farm Service Centre, Epe -Temu Farm Service Centre; Eredo-Noforija Town Hall, Ibeju -Magbon; Alade High School; Maryland-Subeb Premises.
Lagos West sales points will be at; Agege-LSADA Complex/Farm Service Centre, Ojo -LAISA Office Agric Bus Stop, Mowo-Coconut House, Badagry-Town Farm Service Centre, Marina, Oshodi-Ikeja Grammar School, Bolade Lagos Central – Ajah at the Ministry of Agriculture Area Office.
Lagos Island – Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Office Adeniji/Freeman, Ajegunle-Alakoto Senior High School Tolu; Surulere -TESLIM Balogun Stadium.
Yaba -Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park.
According to the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Food Security, Mr. Sanni Okanlawan, the rice will be made available in all the 20 Local Government Areas, and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.
He said:
“Lake Rice is the acronym of both Lagos and Kebbi States joint product which will be out to the public on Dec. 15 at the rate of N13,000 per 50kg bag as it is already subsidized by the government.
