The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has distanced itself from a viral job opening indicating that the body is recruiting for the position of Assistant Examination Officers.
In a press statement obtained by InsideMainland, the body said its “attention has been drawn to a publication in the electronic media, pertaining to a purported advert by WAEC Nigeria, for the recruitment of Assistant Examination Officers.”
“Please for the avoidance of doubt, and in the interest of prospective applicants and the general public, there is nothing like that. WAEC has not advertised for the recruitment of Assistant Examination Officers nor any other Cadre, for that matter,” the statement read.
While advising the general public to ignore the publication, the body said “applicants and the general public are hereby advised to ignore the publication and avoid falling into the hands of scammers who are out to make money from gullible and undiscerning individuals.”
The management however said the body is a reputable and structured organisation that operates in accordance with time-tested norms and prescribed procedures whose hallmarks are integrity and openness.
