The suspected notorious kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as (aka) Evans, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and kidnapping charges brought before a judge of the Ikeja High Court, Premium Times has reported. Evans and five others – four men and a woman – were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping. Eyes Of Lagos gathered that the woman pleaded not guilty to the all the charges.
Ahead of the adjournment of the case to October 19, 2017, the judge ordered that Evans and his four male counterparts be remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Prison while the female defendant is to be kept at the Kirikiri Female Prison.
Meanwhile, the Police said it is concluding further investigations on the case as the Force makes extra efforts to unravel the crimes and other atrocities committed by Evans, believed to have made billions of Naira from kidnapping wealthy victims. “The Inspector General of Police devoted time, efforts, intelligence, and strategies to ensure that he was arrested. He beat strategies for the past six years. When he was arrested, it took time for the police to complete investigations and very soon, Nigerians will be made to know what is the next line of action for Evans”, Mr. Igbodo, Commissioner of Police (Legal Section), said.
