EYES OF LAGOS gathered that, Governors of the South East Geo-political Zone yesterday met with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra{IPOB} at government house, Enugu for several hours.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting that lasted for several hours, the Chairman of the South east governors’ Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi disclosed that they deliberated on the various demands of the IPOB.
He disclosed that they would continue to meet with Kanu and other leaders of IPOB with view to finding a lasting solution to the issues.
He, however appealed to concerned people to give the South East Governors opportunity to sort out the issues amicably, assuring that they would continue to look into the issues.
It was gathered that the governors might have deliberated on the the insistence by Kanu that the forthcoming election in Anambra State will not hold until a referendum is conducted, among others.
Those who attended the meeting that lasted for several hours included Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Anamabra State Deputy Governor, Nkem Okeke while two governors were said to have traveled abroad.
The governors later met with the leadership of apex Igbo Social Cultural Organization, Ohanaze Ndigbo, former Central Bank boss Chukwuma Soludo, among others.
