Lagos International Trade Fair complex management board have come together to find ways to revive the complex and put it in good shape. In an interview with journalists, the Board Chairman, Mela Audu Nunghe described the complex as a monument of wealth lying fallow which needs urgent attention.Eyes Of Lagos gathered that, According to him, we came for inaugural meeting and tour to see things for ourselves and to understand the challenges ahead us. “For those who knew International Trade fair complex in the past years and see the state now will weep. The challenges are major now and you can refer to it as a mad house or abandoned project. It is really a sad story. “Why will government have such project and it is abandoned. It is better to life”, he added. Nunghe therefore said that with the cooperation of the board they would make difference, stressing that the mandate is given to them by the Federal government. In her contribution, Mrs. Lucy Omosefe Ajayi, who is the Executive Director of Lagos International Trade Fair management board stressed further that within the four month she assumed office, things have changed. Her words: “as one of the government agencies, We made made half a billion as Treasury Single Account (TSA) and my target for third quarter is one billion naira”. Mrs. Ajayi lamented the havoc made by the immediate past managing director, saying for the past nine years, government did not get a dine from concessionaire. She maintained that the complex was not well managed and stakeholders were not happy as a result of absence of government in the area. “To persuade the stakeholders, I came with consolatory move on ease of doing business and promise to sanitise the environment which we have started”, she said.
