Dr Akande, who was overwhelmed at the outstanding project, opined that the project undoubtedly contributes immensely to food security and nutrition through modern technologies and methodologies.
He reiterated that the initiative aligns with Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration’s plan for agricultural development.
“An Initiative like this will change the way agriculture is practised in this part of the world. Hence, improve productivity and harvest.”
Furthermore, he added that the present administration believes so much and is committed to strengthening the state’s agricultural sector.
In response, FarmKonnect’s CEO, Azeez Oluwole, appreciated the state government for giving an enabling environment for businesses like theirs to thrive.
He stated that the FarmKonnect Agricultural Electronic Extension Service Centre (FAgEX) would provide a better opportunity to monitor plants properly, the open farm and Greenhouses anywhere in Africa using satellite, drones, Electro-Optic systems and On-site sensors.
Azeez added that “With this initiative, they could also control certain operations such as irrigation and humidification remotely, which is the first of its kind in Africa.”
