Born in Lagos, Nigeria, BlkMazzy moved around as a kid until settling down in Antigua where he was raised. Soon after leaving high school BlkMazzy began taking his creative talents more seriously and went by the pseudonym, “KwamONe1”. As KwamOne1, he started recording and mixing for local acts, then a big break came when BlkMazzy got contracted by respected reggae singer “General P” to produce and mix songs for his album “Signs of Life” which almost went platinum in the first week of release.
BlkMazzy went on to record for a handful of stars including reggae stars like Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel , Movado, singer Taurus Riley and a handful of radio drops by international singer Akon.
After spending time recording and working with both local Caribbean and international artists at JMC Studios which was owned by brothers Craig and Gavin Christopher, BlkMazzy made very popular and powerful friends, but this wasn’t enough cause BlkMazzy has always been fascinated by air crafts and had acquired a private pilot’s license (PPL), so in 2008 he moved to Chicago to pursue his education full time in the graphic design field.
By this time, he had changed his artistic name to “TheAviator” and registered a publishing company called “Momaki Publishing LLC” for audio, photos and books in addition to an imprint label called “The Hanger House” under which He’s released various music singles, and 5 (five) mixtapes, the most recent being “The Terminal”, which was released along with 2 videos. The video for TNT has a dancehall/ethnic feel to it, premiered on 11.12.13 via the Cross Caribbean Countdown on Tempo networks formally known as MTV Tempo.
BlkMazzy production style often varies from the use of different cultural instruments usually from folk genres, with tribal drums and melodies, to straight rap and modern pop genres. He favors listening to other genres of music over hip-hop such as; The Killers, Sade, Fela, Jay Z, Bob Marley, Wasiu Ayinde and Pink Floyd are some of my favorite musicians.

BlkMazzy received an AAS in Graphic design from Harper College in Chicago; he’s an honorable member of the Phi Theta Kappa society and also hold numerous audio engineering certificates from The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Arizona for both analog and digital console recording and mixing applications. Holds an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with various cyber security and ethical hacking certificates from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
BlkMazzy moved to New York and interned as an assistant engineer at the world class Premier Studios which caters to A list artists such as Lil Wayne, Wale, Birdman, Ryan Leslie, and Kanye West just to name a few and worked on various projects with them, Presently, BlkMazzy is working on his debut Mixtape titled “Road Trip (Jammo! Yankee to Las Gidi) which is due to be released around June 2021 while also patenting several inventions and UAV prototypes.
