Kogi state is the safest state in the North despite the fact that it is a transit point – Yahaya Bello

It was gathered that Governor Yahaya Bello has been very active and proactive in fighting insecurity in Kogi state hence the adjudgment to be the safest state in the North, He made it known during an interview “If you interview locals they will tell you how criminals are kept at bay”
Information gathered shows that GYB has taken to different measures in ensuring that Kogi state is safe from criminals and bandits and a wake-up call has been passed on through to all the necessary security sectors with the right equipment in terms of Logistics, Human capital development, infrastructure, Technology, Mobilization and other areas.
GYB has recruited 44 instructors for training the Kogi state vigilante groups for 8weeks and over 3000 members of vigilante groups have been trained in the state,
He has mobilized over 1.7BN to support the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Police, Custom and department of state security and spent over 200M in construction cost on the forward operating base for the Nigerian Army.
Over 441 police constabulary have been trained into the Nigerian police force in Kogi state, likewise over 260 bikes and 10 mini trucks have been procured for the operatives of the vigilante groups. Also in terms of deploying technology, GYB   Distributed 10,000 mobile phones to citizens of Kogi for VIGISCOPE for reporting emergencies. All these have been achieved at the state level and GYB doesn’t seem to be resting on his laurels.
