He mentioned Burna Boy, Olamide, Davido, and Wizkid, saying that these artists allowed him to get to where he is now. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Omah Lay said he’s not sure what it is about him that makes him stand apart from everyone else and his peers, but he knows he’s being authentic when he creates music.

“I feel like if it weren’t for the people from the previous generation—Burna, Wiz, Davido, and Olamide—I wouldn’t be here today, and this is how I’m doing it. Indeed, I’m simply doing me, and that is what it is, so I can’t explain with certainty what it is that I am doing differently.
