Lover’s pretend to be abducted in Akwa Ibom and seek N4 million from family

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has detained two lovers for allegedly orchestrating their kidnapping.

Early morning, it was reported that Beltus Ebong and Imaobong Sampson, the lovers, were taken into detention.

The state’s police public relations officer, Odiko Macedon, made a statement stating that they were apprehended in Mbierebe Obio village, Ibesikpo Asutan. The document also revealed that the lovers had asked their families for a ransom. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Members of the command’s Anti-abduction Squad pursued the suspects to their retreat, according to Macdon, after learning about the kidnapping case in the area.

He said that the claims the instruction had been made indicated that the family of Imaobong was being asked to pay N4 million to suspected kidnappers.

Consequently, members of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad launched a thorough, intelligence-driven investigation to find the abductors and free the victim.

“In their hideout at Mbierebe Obio Village, Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A., the said purported victim, one Imaobong Sampson ‘M’, and her boyfriend, Beltus Ebong ‘M’, were arrested,” he said.
