Sabinus comments on his father’s kidnapping: “The ransom has been paid”

Nigerian skitmaker Sabinus has responded to the recent kidnapping of his father in Rivers State. Last week, Sabinus` father was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen from his home in Port Harcourt. Clashes between local security teams and the kidnappers led to a shootout that left one policeman dead. In a post on hi s Facebook page, Sabinus revealed that a ransom was paid for his father’s release. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The sketch artist did not disclose the amount of the ransom but expressed gratitude for the ability to pay it. “The kidnappers who kidnapped my father can’t laugh at my video. That’s life,” he wrote in pidgin English. “But I am thankful to God who helped me pay the ransom. I’m sorry. Thank you sir.” Born Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejeku, Sabinus’ popularity has earned him notable awards and recognition. Sabinas, also known as Mr. Funny, has appeared in several Nollywood movies, including Billionaire’s Bride, Man of War, and Dead Serious.

The skitmaker was named “Best Online Content Creator” at th e Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2022. He made his debut as Oga Sabinas at the Lighthouse venue in London that same year
