Singer Korede Bello discusses his reasons for leaving his record label, Mavins Records, in an interview.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, the singer of “Godwin” disclosed that he had to reassess his artistic and personal goals, which ultimately led him to part ways with the label he had been signed to from 2014 until 2021.
To quote him:
I was going through a phase in my life where I needed to change, investigate my value on the inside, engage in self-reflection, have a deeper understanding of meaning, and rediscover my purpose. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
“Because I was at a point in my career where I felt like a product that Mavins Records was only using to make money.”
“You lose sight of what matters when you chase after the next hit, after the next whatever it is that can get you into conversations. So a lot of artists are addicted to that circle.”
