Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has come under fire from Fenerbahce boss José Mourinho for diving too frequently during games.
Osimhen, who has signed a loan from Napoli to Galatasaray, will play Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Portuguese coach, who had previously been the manager of AS Roma and had played against Osimhen multiple times in Serie A, disclosed that he had spoken with the player directly about the problem.
In an interview, Mourinho stated, “I told Osimhen, ‘You’re one of the best players in Africa along with Salah, but you can’t be diving.”
Meanwhile, despite his criticism, Mourinho acknowledged Osimhen’s talent but believes the forward needs to improve in this aspect of his game.
“He dives too much, and that’s my problem with him, but after 10 minutes, we are fine,” he added.
