FG declares October 1, 2024, a public holiday for the nation’s 64th Independence Day

In honor of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, has been declared a public holiday by the federal government.

Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on this momentous occasion in a statement released on behalf of the government. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, made a statement on Friday that highlighted Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s praise of Nigeria’s patient and hardworking populace and assured them that their efforts would not go unnoticed.

The minister emphasized the anniversary’s theme, asking Nigerians to consider the accomplishments of “our heroes past” and to find motivation in their legacy as they strive to meet new challenges.

He emphasized that unity among citizens is necessary to achieve the Nigeria of our dreams.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished a happy Independence Day to all and urged Nigerians to stay dedicated to the country’s advancement.
