Governor budgets ₦700 million for 50 torchlights and 100 walkie-talkies

A Nigerian governor causes a stir on the internet by allocating ₦700 million to purchase 100 walkie-talkies and 50 Torchlights.

This can be found in a post causing a stir on X, a well-known social media site that was once known as Twitter. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Arise News correspondent Oseni Rufai disclosed in the aforementioned post that a current governor has set aside millions of dollars to purchase walkie talkies and torchlights.

He discussed the same governor’s plan to purchase cars costing billions of dollars in the same post.

“N700 million will be used to purchase ’50 torchlights and 100 walkie-talkies for Bayelsa Community Safety Corps,'” he said. Twenty Hilux and SUVs will cost N4.6 billion, and N1.2 billion would go toward government printing equipment. Everything falls inside the budget.
