Nollywood actress Sarah Martins recently opened up about a painful experience from a past relationship. In an Instagram post, she revealed that for six months, she gave half of her salary to her ex-boyfriend, only to discover he was using her money to support another woman’s business. Martins shared that this betrayal deeply affected her, making her more cautious about giving too much in relationships. Reflecting on her experience, she explained that while she’s willing to support her partner, her support now depends on mutual effort and loyalty.
In her words, “There was a time I gave my ex 50% of my monthly salary for 6 months, and he was giving the money to another woman. He even funded her business from my hard work, and she went on to marry someone else.”
She added that after this experience, she’s become more guarded, saying, “I won’t give a man anything financially unless he’s shown me the same level of support first.”
