Church Honors 20 Girls for Preserving Their Virginity

A Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Ghana recently honored 20 girls for preserving their virginity during a special Thanksgiving service over the weekend.

The girls, aged between 13 and 16, were each awarded undisclosed amounts of money to support their wellbeing. Mrs. Nana Amponsah Poku, the Wenchi West District Coordinator of the Young Adventist Women Ministries, praised the young ladies for maintaining their virginity and encouraged them to continue doing so until marriage.  Eyes Of Lagos reports,

“God created you uniquely beautiful, and you should not let anyone tempt you or break your virginity before marriage,” she advised, urging the girls to be cautious when selecting friends in the coming year.

She also highlighted the significance of traditional rites, such as the Bragoro or Dipo ceremony, in preserving girls’ virginity and preventing teenage pregnancies, which she believes hinder the growth and development of young girls and women.
