Galatasaray insider Kağan Dursun has disclosed that Manchester United recently made a verbal offer of €70 million (₦113 billion) to Napoli in an attempt to secure Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Despite United’s interest, Osimhen remains committed to Galatasaray, where he is currently on loan from Napoli.
Osimhen’s journey to Galatasaray followed a tumultuous period at Napoli. During the summer transfer window, he was linked with moves to clubs like Chelsea and Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli. However, these transfers did not materialize, leading to his exclusion from Napoli’s Serie A squad and the reassignment of his shirt number to Romelu Lukaku. Subsequently, on September 4, 2024, Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
Since his arrival in Turkey, Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s success. Under the leadership of coach Okan Buruk, the team tops the Süper Lig, boasting an eight-point lead over rivals Fenerbahçe. Osimhen has contributed significantly, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists in league matches, and totaling 14 goals across all competitions.
Despite interest from Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, Osimhen has expressed his loyalty to Galatasaray. He is reportedly preparing to remain in Istanbul, focusing on his current club’s objectives.
This steadfast commitment underscores Osimhen’s dedication to Galatasaray, even amidst significant interest from top European clubs.
