Buhari Reveals He Relies on House Rent for Feeding, Speaks on Challenges of Leading Nigeria

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has shared a surprising glimpse into his post-presidency life, revealing that he depends on rental income from one of his houses in Kaduna State to cover his feeding expenses. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State, Buhari reflected on his time in office and the challenges of leading a country as complex as Nigeria.

“Nigeria is a difficult country to govern, but most Nigerians don’t understand this. You cannot fully grasp the intricacies of leadership and governance until you’re in that position,” he said.

The former president, known for his anti-corruption stance, emphasized that his lifestyle is proof of his integrity during his administration.
“After my eight years as a civil president, I own only three houses—one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have rented out one of them to generate money for feeding. No one can accuse me of enriching myself illicitly,” Buhari declared.

He further reiterated his commitment to the values of integrity and accountability, stating that he governed with a clear conscience and avoided corruption throughout his tenure.

Buhari’s revelation has sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians praising his modesty and honesty, while others debated the realities of leadership and governance in the country:
