In a dramatic turn of events, the singer took to his X platform to retract his harsh criticism, offering praise to the Commissioner for his efforts in managing the tense situation unfolding in the state. “A Reflective Take on Osun CP, NPF, and the Upcoming LG Elections”
Upon reflecting on the political situation in Osun State and the tragic events that unfolded, I want to acknowledge that my initial outburst was born from deep frustration over the loss of innocent lives today. The unnecessary violence angered me to the core, and I unfairly directed blame towards the Commissioner of Police.
After further insight and conversations, I realize that the situation is far more complex than I first understood. The efforts made by the Osun State security agencies, led by the Commissioner of Police, were not only genuine but also commendable. They have been working tirelessly, and I failed to appreciate the gravity of their commitment to restoring peace.
In light of the painful losses we all feel, I now see that the Commissioner and his team have been doing their best in incredibly difficult circumstances. This is a mistake I regret, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for their continued dedication to upholding the rule of law.
In the memory of those lost, I urge the security agencies to continue their hard work and ensure that the upcoming local government election on February 22nd is held peacefully. This would be a monumental success for not just the politicians but also for the security leaders, especially the Commissioner of Police.
I wish the Commissioner of Police and all security personnel the best as they continue to navigate this challenging time.
Signed: Mr. David Adeleke (DAVIDO)
