Mista Xto Makes Investment Case for Music Business in Akwa Ibom
Legendary Nigerian performing artist, Mista Xto has made a case for increased investment in music ~business~ in Akwa Ibom State, not just for the art, but as a means of job creation and sustenance.
Xto with real name Christopher Esin made this case on Friday, 28th February during his appreciation speech after being awarded the Entertainment Man of the Year at the Premium 89.9 FM’s maiden Colloquium and Award event in Uyo.
“I just want to encourage those in Akwa Ibom who invest in people and the upcoming to also consider music because any time you see Mista Xto, there are people behind the scenes earning money as well, So this is an industry that should be taken seriously”, he said.
This statement agrees with the current reality as Nigeria’s music industry is the biggest in Africa and Nigerian artists are among the most sought-after alongside American posters churning out chart-topping hits.
Mista Xto, who runs South Central Records, is home to several successful home-grown musicians including Effiom Trombone, and Godfada Uko amongst many others.
His contribution to the Nigerian music industry has earned him over 740 awards and certificates of honor to his name.
