The Gbagada end of Lagos Mainland became a mecca or sort earlier today, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, after retired top football stars stormed the community for the official opening of the newly upgraded Araromi Youth Development Centre, Gbagada, Lagos Mainland.
Eyes Of Lagos gathered that, Prior to the launch of the Youths Centre, a government delegation led by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Adebule visited the location alongside other dignitaries.
Dr. Adebule, flanked by government functionaries and other leading personalities subsequently commissioned the centre declaring it open for use for residents of the community.
The commissioning was followed by a novelty match involving retired Super Eagles of Nigeria players against a Gbagada selected Legend team. The match featured players such as Emmanuel Babayaro, Peter Rufai, Ifeanyi Udeze, Victor Ezeji, Victor Agali, Julius Aghahowa and many others.
The match ended 3 – 2 in favour of ex Super Eagles players with goals from Julius Aghahowa and Victor Agali winning the tie for the international stars.
Recall that construction works began on the youths centre in 2017 before it was duly completed earlier in the year.
