Following the total black out that has hit Igbogbo town in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, the women in the community yesterday, July 4 2017 staged a peaceful protest at the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) office in Igbogbo, Ikorodu. Their protest called on PHCN officials to give them electricity as the total darkness they have experienced for some months has helped Badoo members to carry out their various attacks.
Eyes Of Lagos gathered that, According to the leader of the protesting women, Mrs. Idayat Muritala, she said irregular power supply in the town has continuously aided the Badoo Cult group. She narrated how two suspected Badoo gang escaped through a bush and were not caught or recognizable due to the total blackout in the community.
A traditional leader in the community, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, heard of the protest and called for a meeting between the protesting women and the PHCN officials.
However, none of the PHCN workers honoured the invitation. The monarch appealed to the protesting women to remain calm, assuring them that he will have a meeting with the PHCN officials.
