Nigeria’s richest man Aliko Dangote has been named one of the most powerful people in the world by Forbes magazine
Dangote was named by Forbes on the list that included the likes of Russia president Vladimir Putin, America’s president-elect Donald Trump and one of the richest men in the world Bill Gates.
Dangote was number 68 on the list that also had the likes of German chancellor Angela Merkel and Turkey president Recep Tayipp Edorgan.
Topping the list is Russian leader Putin who is followed by incoming American president Trump. Third is Merkel while China president Xi Jinping is fourth. In the fifth position is Catholic pontiff Pope Francis. Gates is seventh while Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is tenth.
Shockingly, outgoing American president Barack Obama was listed a dismal 48th on a list that included top businessmen and philanthropists.
Meanwhile, Dangote has made another important list. He has been named as one of the most powerful Muslims in the world.
Also on this list is President Muhammadu and Boko Haram insurgent leader Abubakar Shekau, who has been reportedly captured in Borno state.
