In the meantime, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) expressed disapproval of the way the polls were being conducted. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Ihunwo revealed on Sunday via X that the name of Wike, which was once prominently carved on the council secretariat’s administrative building, has been changed with the late Obi Wali, a state activist and former politician.

The LG chairman additionally released a video showing the moment Wali took Wike’s name off the block.

“We have changed Wike’s name in the Obio/Akpor Council admin block, and replaced with the name of SENATOR DR. OBI WALI,” the author stated.

Wike, the most recent governor of Rivers State, was a local council chairman before moving to the Rumuepirikom community in the Obio Akpor LGA of the state.
