…Sponsors six youths on tailoring, barbing, cyber security

It was an atmosphere of joy and celebration on Wednesday, in Mbiabam Ibiono, Ibiono Ibom LGA, as the CEO of BAAA Communications Limited, Mr. Bokime Asuquo, celebrated his 2025 birthday with the women and youths of his community.


At a brief birthday event held in his family compound, Mr. Asuquo dolled out wrappers and cash gifts to 32 women in the community, thanking them for their sacrifices for their families and efforts in raising God-fearing children.

He also announced full sponsorship for some youths of the community to learn barbing, tailoring and cyber security.

Addressing guests at the event, Mr. Asuquo who thanked God for his life, said his growth as a young man would not have been possible without God.


He explained the reasons behind his kind gesture to the women.

“I was born and bred in this community. I used to sell kerosene around here. I grew here. So, I can’t forget where I come from. I feel no matter where you go, you should always return home and see how you can touch one or two persons.

“I have always celebrated my birthdays with friends in Uyo, but this year, I thought it wise to come down here and celebrate with my own people.

He urged the youths to earn a living by engaging in meaningful ventures, while shunning cultism and other social vices.

“I’ve also decided to train two youths in tailoring, two in barbing and two in cyber security. The full funding will be handled by me. I believe in youth development. I believe that if as youths, we have better things to do, we can always come home and development this community. But we must start somewhere, that is why I have decided to sponsor some of you for these trainings. As God gives me the grace, we will increase the number”, he added.

The BAAA Communications CEO used the opportunity to thank his wife, family members and friends for their support, promising never to forget his community.

 

In their separate goodwill messages, the CEO of Bustle Lounge, Mr. Ekpeno Gold, a former Councilor in Uruan LGA, Hon. Ifiok Asuquo, foremost Media Executive, Mr. Aniekan Ekah, amongst others, congratulated Mr. Bokime Asuquo and described his gesture to the women and youths as a step in the right direction.

 

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Enobong Udobong appreciated Mr. Bokime Asuquo for his benevolence and prayed God to replenish his pocket.

The Guest Minister at the event, Pastor Abraham Isong, reminded Christians to always acknowledge God in their daily endeavors, and commended the celebrator for choosing to honour the women.

The event featured cutting of the birthday cake, prayers for Mr. Asuquo and family, as well as special dance session.
