Nigerian Food Vendor Builds Kitchen With NYSC Allowance, Inspires Many

The vendor, identified on TikTok as @foodboxvendorsinipaja, shared a video showing the entire construction process — from the foundation to the finishing touches.

“A Dream Come True”

In her emotional post, she expressed gratitude and excitement over the achievement, describing it as the result of months of discipline and determination.

“Finally!.. it’s a dream come true🥹… my mini kitchen space built from scratch☺️ 8 months of sweat, hard work, grace and some seasoning… it wasn’t an easy one but God made it happen🙏,” she wrote.

According to her, the project was funded entirely from her NYSC allowance of ₦77,000 per month, which she carefully managed and invested in her goal.

Nigerians React to Her Achievement

Her story has since gone viral on TikTok and other platforms, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians. While many praised her determination and wise financial decisions, others expressed doubts about how realistic it was to achieve such a feat with NYSC earnings.

“Amen glory to God but Quick one, are you building on your landlord’s property or what? Cos there should be a kitchen where you’re staying or is this for business?”

Authenticsonia_ added:
“Even at 77k, you and I know you can’t use 924k to do this… but anyway congratulations.”

Vivithepen commented:
“I sha know say no be the same 77k wey I dey collect you take buy land and still build. Congratulations.”

Others, however, used the opportunity to celebrate her courage and resilience:
