Oluwo of Iwo Alleges Ooni of Ife Slept With His Ex-Wife, Questions Child’s Paternity
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, has stirred intense reactions after accusing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, of having an affair with his former wife while their marriage was still intact. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
In a viral video posted on his official Instagram page, Oba Akanbi alleged that his ex-wife was introduced to him from Canada as part of a calculated plot to destabilize his throne and endanger his life.
“They packaged a woman for me from Canada. I didn’t know her; it was all a setup. She stayed in my house for over three years while secretly communicating with them, plotting my death. None of you can endure what I have endured,” he claimed.
The outspoken monarch further alleged that the woman, with whom he later had a child, made several attempts to poison and assassinate him. He now doubts the true paternity of the child, stating that a DNA test may be required to confirm.
“They were setting me up with videos and many things in my own house. This so-called ex-wife was sent to destroy me. She had a child, but I don’t even know if the child is mine. I need to confirm that through DNA,” he said.
According to the Oluwo, after he sent the woman away, the Ooni of Ife allegedly provided her with accommodation and was seen with her at a hotel.
Oba Akanbi concluded by declaring that his conflict with the Ooni of Ife would “never end,” signaling that the rift between the two Yoruba monarchs is far from resolved.
This explosive revelation has further fueled speculation about long-standing tensions between the Oluwo of Iwo and the Ooni of Ife, two of the most prominent traditional rulers in Yoruba land.
