Oshodi Lady Who Sponsored Boyfriend Through School Gets Dumped for Educated Woman”

“I Paid His School Fees, He Married Another Woman” – Oshodi Underbridge Trader Shares Emotional Story of Betrayal and Resilience

A young Nigerian woman who sells goods under the Oshodi bridge has gone viral after sharing her heartbreaking story of betrayal by a man she once loved and financially supported through university. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a TikTok video shared by user @ekaftv, the unidentified woman revealed that she sponsored her boyfriend’s education with her hard-earned money, only for him to later dump her and marry another woman—all because she wasn’t “educated.”

“I sell market in Oshodi under bridge, I’m from Ikorodu. I’m not a trenches babe. There’s a time I was dating a boy in Ikorodu, he left me to wed another woman,” she narrated.
“I gave him money, I paid his school fees. I was warned but I didn’t tell all my friends. I was heartbroken and moved on, and I came on to Oshodi to sell goods.”

According to her, she often sent him ₦50,000 or ₦20,000 to support him while he was in school. She was deeply committed to the relationship but was devastated when he broke up with her and married someone who was more educated.

“My Market Is My Relationship Now”

Despite the betrayal, she remains strong and focused on building her life through her small business. She says she’s given up on love for now and is committed to her hustle.

“As I dey like this, I don cross my heart, I no fit love any guy again. Na my market be my relationship for now. The market dey give me joy. If I want to buy anything, I’ll buy with the money from my market profit.”

She also shared that she’s the only daughter in her family and has taken on the responsibility of sponsoring her four brothers through school after losing both parents. Despite all odds, she refuses to do hookup or any illicit trade and continues to find dignity in her hustle.

Her story has stirred a wave of reactions on social media, with many expressing empathy and admiration for her resilience:

  • @Heineken Odogwu Jr.: “She is a very good girl, training her siblings. Not all street hustlers are bad.”

However, not all comments were sympathetic. Some users made light of the situation, sparking a wider conversation on how women’s sacrifices in relationships are often taken for granted.

Final Thoughts

This young woman’s story is a painful reminder of the risks some women take in relationships, especially when love blinds them to red flags. But it’s also a powerful testimony of strength, hustle, and hope. She continues to strive for a better life and remains hopeful that one day, a man who sees her true worth will come along.
