Tragedy on Livestream: Venezuelan TikToker Jesus Sarmiento Gunned Down After Exposing Gangs

In a deeply shocking incident, 25-year-old Venezuelan TikTok star, Jesus Sarmiento, was shot dead during a livestream after allegedly exposing powerful criminal elements and government corruption.

The influencer, known for his bold commentary and fearless activism, had amassed over 87,000 followers on TikTok for his outspoken views. But on June 22, 2025, that fearless voice was tragically silenced—live in front of his followers. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

🚨 What Happened?

While broadcasting from his home, Sarmiento was attacked by armed men who stormed the building and opened fire. The chilling livestream captured the moment gunshots rang out, and chaos unfolded on screen.

Sarmiento was shot multiple times and died at the scene. His mother, who was also present, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, but survived and is currently receiving medical care.

😱 Why Was He Targeted?

Local reports claim that Sarmiento had been receiving threats for weeks after calling out top Venezuelan political figures, including powerful Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, as well as members of notorious gangs such as Tren del Llano and Tren de Aragua—criminal groups feared across South America.

Sources believe his online activism, particularly his accusations of government-gang collusion, may have triggered the deadly attack.

🛑 Government Reacts

Despite previous criticism of his claims, the Venezuelan government has publicly condemned the killing. Attorney General Tarek William Saab has assigned Fiscalía 69 Nacional to handle the investigation, promising to pursue those responsible.

However, many Venezuelans—and global human rights observers—are skeptical that justice will be served, given Sarmiento’s long-standing conflicts with state authorities.

💬 A Voice Silenced, But Not Forgotten

Jesus Sarmiento’s tragic death has sparked global outrage, with activists and influencers calling for increased protection of whistleblowers, online creators, and journalists who dare to speak out in oppressive environments.

“This isn’t just about one man—this is about the right to speak without being silenced by bullets,” one activist posted on X.
