Gateway Polytechnic Students, Two Pedestrians Die After ₦30k Race Bet Ends in Tragic Crash
A tragic incident has claimed the lives of three students of Gateway Polytechnic, Saapade, along with two innocent pedestrians, after a reckless car race over a ₦30,000 bet ended in disaster.
According to reports circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the students had each wagered ₦30,000 to compete in a high-speed race. The dangerous stunt turned fatal when their vehicle lost control, crashing into a roadside shop and killing two passers-by instantly. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
All three students died at the scene from the impact.
Disturbing video footage from the scene shows residents in shock, mourning the victims while the lifeless bodies of the pedestrians lay on the ground.
