Speed Darlington Demands Refund from Ladies Who Collected ₦1,000 Transport but Failed to Show Up
Controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington, has once again stirred social media reactions after publicly calling out two women who allegedly collected ₦1,000 as transport fare from him but failed to show up as agreed.
In a viral video posted on his Instagram page, the U.S.-based entertainer accused the women of dishonesty, insisting they refund the money immediately. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Visibly upset, Speed Darlington expressed disappointment, describing the act as “disrespectful and deceitful.” He claimed that the women had agreed to visit him but stopped responding after receiving the money.
Speaking partly in Igbo, he said:
“Come this girl and your sister, return the money I gave you as TFare. Don’t tell me you are so poor that I gave you ₦1,000 for transport, that you were coming to see me, to sleep with me, and then you failed to show up. Send my money back. It is small, but send it back.”
The video quickly went viral across X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram, drawing widespread reactions from fans and social media users.
While some mocked the situation over the small amount involved, others defended the singer, arguing that integrity should not be measured by the amount of money in question.
One user commented, “₦1,000 or not, you shouldn’t collect money for a plan you don’t intend to keep.” Another wrote, “Speed Darlington never fails to entertain us, even when he’s angry.”

Over the years, the artist has become a social media sensation for his unfiltered opinions, comedic delivery, and unpredictable antics. His latest outburst adds to a growing list of incidents that have kept him in the public eye.
As of the time of filing this report, the women accused in the viral clip have yet to respond publicly.
