Lady Shares Scary but Unexpected Experience on Pedestrian Bridge Along Agege Road

A Lagos-based social media user has shared a frightening yet unexpected experience after climbing a pedestrian bridge along Agege Road, a story that has since sparked widespread reactions online. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady narrated how she became instantly terrified upon encountering a group of men she described as “rough-looking” while using the pedestrian bridge.

According to her, fear quickly set in and she considered turning back immediately. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the men reassured her and asked her not to panic.

“Climbed the pedestrian bridge along Agege Road, saw some rough guys and my heart dropped.
I wanted to turn back immediately.
They were so nice and told me not to be afraid,” she wrote.

Despite the reassurance, the lady admitted she still handed over the little cash she had with her out of caution.

“I sha gave them the cash with me make dem no collect my phone,” she added.

Her experience has since generated mixed reactions from social media users, with many sharing personal opinions and safety advice.

One user, Ugosimba, jokingly remarked that the money she gave may have saved her from trouble, while Kanebi described her action as wise, advising people to remain calm and cooperative in such situations.

Others, however, raised concerns about security around pedestrian bridges in Lagos.

Desmond noted that while individuals may have different experiences, the government needs to urgently address the presence of street groups around pedestrian bridges.

Saheed echoed similar concerns, stating that many pedestrian bridges in Lagos have become intimidating due to the presence of street gangs, and called on the Lagos State Government to take action.

Another user, GodAbeg, admitted that he would rather cross the road than use certain pedestrian bridges due to fear.

The incident has once again highlighted ongoing safety concerns surrounding pedestrian bridges across Lagos, with many residents expressing fear over harassment and insecurity on these public structures.
