Alleged Audio of Destiny Boy’s Mother Placing Curse on Singer Emerges

An alleged audio recording of the mother of late Nigerian singer Adesina Afeez, popularly known as Destiny Boy, placing a curse on the artiste has surfaced online, days after his death.

The audio, which has since gone viral on social media, has sparked widespread reactions and renewed controversy surrounding the circumstances leading up to the 22-year-old singer’s passing.

In the circulating audio, Destiny Boy’s mother was heard allegedly placing a curse on the singer, stating that he would never succeed again despite the sacrifices she claimed to have made for him.

Although the exact reason for the alleged curse was not clearly stated, the woman reportedly lamented that while other musicians were being paid as much as ₦1 million for performances, Destiny Boy would struggle to receive ₦50,000. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

She was also heard urging the singer to inform his herbalists that she had placed a curse on him.

The emergence of the audio has generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users expressing shock, while others cautioned against drawing conclusions amid ongoing investigations into the singer’s death.

Destiny Boy’s passing had earlier been met with an outpouring of condolences from fans and colleagues within the Nigerian music industry.

Meanwhile, Destiny Boy’s sister has broken her silence, dismissing rumours surrounding her brother’s death.

According to her, the singer was poisoned and did not die at an herbalist’s residence or as a result of alleged money rituals. She urged the public to stop spreading unverified claims and allow the family to grieve in peace.

In a related development, Destiny Boy’s mother later claimed that her son had been battling a long-term illness, which allegedly began after he visited a herbalist identified as Ifayomi for initiation into Ifa worship.

She alleged that the herbalist had shown affection towards the singer and gifted him a ram, but shortly afterward, Destiny Boy reportedly fell ill.

As of the time of filing this report, none of the allegations have been independently verified.
