Reports Claim Legendary Fashion Designer Valentino Garavani Has Passed Away

 Reports circulating online have claimed that legendary Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani has passed away, sparking widespread reactions and tributes across social media platforms. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to the reports, Valentino Garavani was said to have died on Monday, January 19, 2025, at his residence in Rome, surrounded by loved ones. However, no official confirmation has been issued by the Valentino fashion house, his representatives, or Italian authorities as of the time of filing this report.

The unconfirmed reports further claim that a lying-in-state would be held at Piazza Mignanelli on January 21 and 22, while a funeral service was reportedly scheduled for January 23 at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Rome.

Despite the widespread circulation of these details, official sources are yet to verify the information.

Born on May 11, 1932, in Voghera, Lombardy, Valentino Garavani developed an early passion for fashion, apprenticing under his aunt Rosa and designer Ernestina Salvadeo.

At age 17, he moved to Paris, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, working under Jean Dessés and Guy Laroche.

In 1960, he founded the Valentino fashion house in Rome, making his international breakthrough in Florence in 1962. He later became globally renowned for his signature Valentino red, elegant gowns, and ultra-feminine designs that shaped modern haute couture.

As of press time, the circumstances surrounding the alleged death remain unclear, with many calling for official clarification to curb misinformation.
