“God don’t play about me, that’s how I know he’s real. I want to say a very big thank you to my mother @uduakisong1 for not resting till the issue was resolved. I love you forever mom. The conflict began when an individual operating under a false identity claimed ownership of a song featured in Where Love Lives. Bimbo Ademoye, who has full rights to the song and the artist’s approval for its use, faced an unexpected strike on her film as a result of the false claim.
With the support of her legal team, including notable figures in Nollywood and digital rights advocacy, Ademoye was able to secure a resolution in her favor, ensuring the song remained on all platforms without infringement.
The actress’s victory highlights the growing importance of copyright protection in Nollywood, where intellectual property theft can significantly impact filmmakers and their works.
Ademoye also praised her fans, affectionately called her “cyber family,” for their role in reporting the infringing content online, demonstrating the power of digital communities in safeguarding creative works.
“It’s giving play with her and you’d incur the watch of her cyber family. I love you guys so much,” she added.
This resolution not only restores her film’s full monetization rights but also serves as a reminder to creatives about the value of protecting their intellectual property in the entertainment industry.
