Nollywood actress Aunty Ajara has passed away after a long and courageous battle with liver disease, her representatives confirmed.
The announcement was made by Tobi Oladele Teemony via Instagram, who expressed deep sorrow over her death.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved actress, Aunty Ajara. She passed on overnight after a long and courageous battle with illness,” the statement read.
According to the post, the actress received overwhelming love, prayers, and financial support from well-wishers around the world during her illness. The family has since requested that donations previously solicited for her medical care should no longer be sent, as they are no longer required.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, loved ones, and everyone grieving this painful loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement added.
Health Struggles and Pregnancy
Reports indicate that Aunty Ajara’s health had been fragile for some time. Just last week, colleagues had reached out for donations to support her treatment. Earlier this week, her friend and fellow actress Mama Nonetwork revealed that Aunty Ajara’s condition had not improved and that she was discovered to be pregnant in December, adding that immediate medical attention had been advised due to her health challenges.
Tragically, despite medical efforts and support, the actress passed away, leaving family, friends, and fans mourning her loss.
Aunty Ajara was known for her contributions to the Nollywood industry, where her diminutive stature and charismatic performances earned her a special place in the hearts of many.
