Passengers Confront Woman Criticising Lagos Government Over BRT Bus Shortage

A video circulating on social media has captured the moment some commuters confronted a young woman known for repeatedly speaking out about the shortage of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses in Lagos.

The incident reportedly occurred at a bus stop where the woman was recording another video about the long waiting time commuters face while trying to board a BRT bus. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In the clip, several passengers challenged her actions and warned her about constantly criticising the transportation situation in the state while filming at the bus stop.

Despite the confrontation, the woman maintained that she would not stop raising awareness about the problem.

She insisted that she would continue documenting the situation whenever she experiences long waiting times for public transportation.

“As far as I spend more than five minutes here, I’m going to make a video and you are not going to stop me,” she said in the video.

Her statement has since attracted attention online, with the clip spreading across various social media platforms.

The incident has triggered mixed reactions from Nigerians online. While some users praised the woman for speaking out about transportation challenges, others questioned whether constantly recording videos at bus stops was the best way to address the issue.

Commuters in Lagos have often complained about the limited number of BRT buses operating across the city, which sometimes leads to long queues and extended waiting times during peak hours.

The Bus Rapid Transit system was introduced by the Lagos State Government to improve mass transit and ease transportation for millions of residents in the state.

However, passengers occasionally raise concerns about bus availability and delays on certain routes.

As the viral video continues to circulate online, the conversation around public transportation challenges in Lagos is once again gaining attention.
