Nollywood Actor Jerry Williams Reportedly Arrested by Security Operatives
Popular Nollywood actor, Jerry Williams, has reportedly been arrested by Nigerian security operatives, sparking fresh controversy online.
According to Stanley Ontop, a Nollywood movie producer, the arrest took place on July 21, 2025, at Williams’ apartment. Ontop alleged that the operation was allegedly orchestrated by Nwafor Franklin, popularly known as Izutech. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Ontop further warned that if anything happens to the actor, Izutech should be held responsible.
Stanley Ontop’s Account
In his post, Ontop revealed that he arrived at the actor’s apartment shortly after the arrest but could not catch up with those who whisked him away.
“Before I reached Jerry’s apartment, they had already left. I chased them with my car, yet I didn’t see them,” he wrote.
Jerry Williams’ Past Controversies
It’s important to note that Jerry Williams has faced public scrutiny over alleged substance abuse, which led to his indefinite suspension from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in June 2023.
The AGN stated at the time that the suspension was necessary to protect both Williams and other actors on set due to his erratic behavior linked to substance abuse.
