“I’ll Generate Billions Monthly as Lagos Governor” – Isaac Fayose Unveils Ambitious Entertainment-Driven Vision

Political commentator and entrepreneur, Isaac Fayose, has stirred conversation with his bold claim that he could generate billions of naira monthly if he were made the Governor of Lagos State.

Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, made the remarks during a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he sharply criticized the current Lagos administration’s revenue strategies and shared his vision for a financially thriving entertainment-powered Lagos. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

“Is he even generating money? Because if I’m Lagos State Governor, I can generate two billion in six months,” Fayose stated confidently.

Fayose’s Revenue Blueprint: A Music City by the Lagoon

Outlining his ideas, Fayose proposed the development of a “Music City” between Ikate and Ilashe, accessible only by boat. The project would serve as a hub to celebrate Nigerian artists, attract global brands, and build luxurious apartments that could sell for up to $1 million.

“You create an artist city. Celebrate all our artists, people like you. A hall of fame. Build apartments, sell one million dollars. Bring in Google, Netflix,” he explained.

Fayose believes that with the right environment, Lagos can transform from an entertainment-consuming state to a globally recognized creative hub — generating consistent revenue for the government through tourism, real estate, and tech innovation.
“From Yahoo to Tech” – Turning Youth Potential Around

In a bold social reengineering idea, Fayose also spoke on reforming internet fraudsters (popularly known as Yahoo boys) by providing tech alternatives and training, thereby converting them into productive tech entrepreneurs.

“You convert your Yahoo boys to tech boys. It’s so easy now,” he said.

Critique of Financial Institutions and Power Issues

Fayose didn’t hold back his criticism of Nigeria’s banking system, lamenting the difficulty everyday citizens face in accessing capital.

“You go to the bank, they ask you to bring your mama’s DNA. If you don’t have collateral, you can’t get any money — and you’re sitting on trillions, while your people are poor.”

He also slammed the persistent power outages at Lagos airport, questioning how such issues still exist in a supposedly thriving state.
Mixed Reactions from Public

Fayose’s comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some praising his vision and others accusing him of oversimplifying governance and overpromising without groundwork. Still, his ideas reflect the growing interest in alternative governance models that leverage entertainment, tech, and innovation to drive economic growth.
