“I Can Satisfy You and Give You Peace” — Isoko Man Proposes to Tiwa Savage, Warns Against Becoming Second Wife
A Nigerian man identified as Festus Awolowo Etame, an Isoko native from Delta State, has drawn public attention after sending a heartfelt marriage proposal to award-winning Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage.
The letter, dated Wednesday, October 23, 2025, marks Festus’ second public proposal to the “Somebody’s Son” crooner in just one week.
‘I’m Not Coming to Chop and Run,’ Says Festus
In his letter, Festus — who described himself as a Management Consultant, Author, and Publisher — expressed deep admiration for Tiwa Savage and insisted that his intentions were genuine, not influenced by her fame or wealth. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
He appealed to the singer to reject any idea of becoming a second or third wife, warning that such a decision could bring her emotional instability and affect her flourishing career.
“You’re too young and beautiful to be a second or third wife to any polygynist,” he wrote. “Spousal conflicts will negatively affect your musical inspiration. You need a monogamous husband who will love you and adopt your son as his own.”
‘I Can Satisfy You and Give You Peace’ — Festus Promises
Festus went further to promise Tiwa Savage peace, love, and fulfillment, emphasizing the benefits of monogamy.
In his words:
“Marrying into a monogamous, nuclear family will give you an Eldorado — peace, perfect peace, love, beauty, and longevity. Sexual satisfaction from a husband with one wife will give you rest of mind. Such a husband will be fit enough to perform ultimately for spousal good. Sexual satisfaction breeds peace and contentment.”
Festus also made it clear that he was not seeking temporary attention or social media fame, but rather a genuine lifelong partnership.
“I’m not coming to chop and run. I’m coming in to continuously water the garden. I’m going to add, not reduce, to your successes,” he wrote.
‘I’m Educated and Spiritually Grounded’ — Festus Reassures
In his letter, Festus shared details of his background to show he was a serious and responsible suitor.
He revealed that he is a graduate of the University of Benin and the University of Lagos, and has worked as a management consultant, author, and publisher of academic textbooks.
Festus, who lost his wife in 2019, added that he remains a devoted Christian who does not drink, smoke, or womanize.
“As a Christian, I do not drink alcohol; I do not smoke; I do not womanize. Even if you drink, I won’t castigate you. We shall have a Damascus-road encounter. Deep calls deep.”
He concluded his letter with a prayer, asking God to guide Tiwa Savage in choosing the right man, and expressing faith that she might “fill the void” in his life.
Tiwa Savage’s ‘Second Wife’ Comment That Sparked It All
Festus’ renewed marriage proposal comes days after Tiwa Savage made headlines for hinting that she might consider becoming a second wife.
During her appearance on the Lip Service podcast, the singer admitted that many of her potential suitors are either much older or already married, leaving her with limited options.
“I’m like a sugar mama, but I don’t want to be. If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married,” she said. “So, I don’t know. Maybe I can be a second wife. I think so. I could be a second wife.”
She added that she would not cause conflict in a polygamous home, saying she would respect the first wife’s position if such a situation arose.
Public Reactions Trail Festus’ Bold Letter
Festus’ letter has since gone viral, sparking a flood of mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.
While some users praised his boldness and sincerity, others described his message as overly dramatic and invasive, suggesting that Tiwa Savage deserves privacy regarding her personal life.
“This man needs to leave Tiwa alone. Proposing in open letters every week is too much,” one user wrote.
Another commented:
“At least he’s honest and well-spoken. Better than those who chase clout without respect.”
As of the time of this report, Tiwa Savage has not publicly responded to Festus Awolowo Etame’s proposal.
