Award-winning Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has been thrown into mourning following the death of her father on Boxing Day, December 26. The heartbreaking news has since drawn an outpouring of condolences from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers across social media. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
The actress announced her father’s passing in an emotional post shared on her official Facebook page. While she did not disclose the cause of death, Lizzy Gold expressed deep shock and pain over the sudden loss, describing her late father as her closest confidant and “gist partner.”
In the post, the actress lamented that his death was unexpected, stating that she had hoped to cross into the new year with him by her side. Her message reflected the strong bond they shared and the emotional toll his passing has taken on her.
She wrote in part:
“What I fear most has happened to me… death has given me a huge blow. My father is gone. He left us yesterday. This wasn’t the plan, daddy. You were supposed to cross over with your children into the new year. My heart is shattered… Will I ever survive this pain?”
Following the announcement, several social media users and colleagues took to the comment section to console the actress and encourage her to remain strong.
