Anthony Joshua Pays Emotional Tribute to Friends Who Died in Nigerian Road Accident

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has paid a heartfelt tribute to two close members of his inner circle who died in a tragic road accident in Nigeria.

The British-Nigerian boxing star took to his Instagram Stories to honour his late friends and colleagues, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, describing their impact on his life and career. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In an emotional message, Joshua tagged the Instagram accounts of the deceased and expressed deep gratitude for their support and brotherhood.

Both of you really helped me.

I don’t usually use social media to voice my feelings, but I want to say I am thankful for the time the bros spent with me,” Joshua wrote.

He added a defiant closing line to the post, saying:
“I just felt like saying it. If you don’t like it, try and do something about it.”

Sina Ghami served as Anthony Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, while Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele was his personal trainer and a trusted figure within the boxer’s inner circle.

Reports indicate that both men died on January 29 in a road accident along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway while travelling with Joshua in Nigeria. The tragic incident has since sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans and members of the boxing community.

The loss marks a painful moment for the heavyweight star, who has often credited his team for playing a key role in his discipline, mindset, and physical preparation throughout his career.
