Groom-to-Be Stabbed to Death Days Before Wedding Ceremony
Tragedy has struck as a groom-to-be, Godwin Ojiji, was allegedly stabbed to death just days before his planned wedding ceremony.
Ojiji, who was set to tie the knot on January 18 and 19, 2026, had only weeks earlier shared a joyful post on Facebook inviting friends and loved ones to his wedding. The post, made on December 16, also featured pre-wedding photographs of him and his bride-to-be. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Sadly, the wedding invitation would become his final social media post.
According to a Facebook post by the brother of the bride-to-be, Ojiji was stabbed at the entrance of his residence by an unidentified assailant only days before the wedding. He was rushed for medical attention but did not survive the attack.
Confirming the devastating loss, the bride’s brother described the incident as deeply painful and life-altering for the family.
“This heartbreaking event has left my younger sister a widow. Hearing about such incidents always felt distant, like a story, but now it has touched my life directly,” he wrote.
“My sister and their two children are now in a state of profound grief.”
The tragic incident has sparked an outpouring of grief on social media, with friends, colleagues, and well-wishers taking to Facebook to mourn the deceased and express shock over the sudden loss.
Many described Ojiji as kind, hardworking, and full of life, lamenting that his journey was cut short just as he was about to begin a new chapter.
