The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the death of fast-rising Nigerian singer Adesina Afeez, popularly known as Destiny Boy. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
The development has intensified public attention surrounding the tragic passing of the 22-year-old artiste, whose death sparked widespread reactions across social media and the entertainment industry.
According to the police, the case has been formally transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for a comprehensive and detailed investigation.
In a statement released on Monday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, disclosed that investigations commenced immediately after the incident was reported.
“The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy,” the statement read.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.”
The police assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to unravel the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death and bring anyone found culpable to justice.
